After disbanding IMU in the spring 2000, I continued to write and record on my own. My public performances were limited to solo acoustic shows, session work and occasional cover gigs with Doug and Marc Mazarin's "OK Club".

Ever since our first meeting, Pat Rotolo and I had built a strong kinship. For the next two years, we would create experimental music together mixing samples and loops with vocals and guitars. Diving headfirst into the world of digital home recording was an exciting time for us, and the results were very inspiring.

Our collaborating often left us longing to reform a band to pick up where IMU left off. The timing was off for Joe Anderson to rejoin, so I approached former "Wide Awake" drummer Phil Weiss to see if he would be interested in working together again. Phil had just recently left the band "Star People" and was available to join the project.

Link4 was formed in the early part of 2002. The name (coined by Pat) comes from a button on a TV remote which enables you to link four seperate units together simultaneously. This title also appealed to me because my intention was to add a keyboardist to the group making us a quartet. However, finding that fourth member proved to be an impossible task.
