In October of 1998 Joe and I started jamming to some of my latest ideas, developing a sound and a vibe. The scaled down approach to my recently written material was to become the basis of the Infinite Mind Unit.

In the months to follow we worked on new songs and recorded demos while audition a number of bass players responding to an ad placed. But none of them fit the part. Then in the winter of 1999, I received a call from someone who visualized exactly what we were looking for.

Pat Rotolo was a musician from Oneonta, NY who recently moved to Long Island and was searching for players that could compliment his musical ideals. With a wide range of tastes, his influences hit home with me and instantly we had formed a strong bond. We remain very close friends today.

The band progressed as a trio and with over a dozen original songs, IMU was ready to reach out to the public. It felt like the timing couldn't be better for the group to explore the boundaries of modern day music with the philosophies of yesterday. However, after only a handful of shows I decided to put the project on hold to make way for a new chapter in my life.

Although IMU was short lived, we managed to record some material just prior to Pat coming aboard. I had the great privilage to work with some old friends on those sessions. The Underdogs' Mark Salamone and Artie Sgaraglio.
